The Cotswolds has a great selection of pubs and restaurants for all budgets and tastes. Here are a few our guests have liked. It is often worth booking a table,
The Bakers Arms at Somerford Keynes is our ‘local’, within walking distance, cosy in winter, pleasant pub garden. Many of our guests have enjoyed food and drink here. There is a range of light lunchtime meals as well as a more substantial evening menu. The pub has ‘special’ nights for steak, fish and chips and so on.
The Potting Shed looks over Cotswold stone cottages in a “quintessentially English” setting. Highly recommended, they have won a number of ‘pub of the year’ awards. The pub is in the village of Crudwell, about 20 minutes from Cornerstone Cottage. The menus focusses on creative, seasonal British food.
The Wild Duck at Ewen is a short drive from the cottage, and has a private dining room good for family get togethers.
Further afield, one we like is The Inn at Fossebridge ( it’s also possible to walk to Roman ruins from the back of the pub).
